This policy explains what information we collect when you participate in The One matchmaking experiment, how we use it, and what rights you have over your data. Please read it before submitting your profile.

Who we are

The One is an independent matchmaking experiment run by Yashasvi Shailly. It is not a registered company or commercial product. You can reach us at matchmadebyone@gmail.com with any questions or requests.

What we collect

When you fill the profile form, we collect:

• Your first name
• Your email address
• Basic profile information: age, gender, city, religion, food preferences
• Relationship preferences: what you are seeking, dealbreakers, values, lifestyle habits
• Consent responses submitted via the pre-introduction check-in form

We do not collect photographs, phone numbers, social media profiles, or any government identification.

How we use your data

Your information is used solely for the purpose of finding and suggesting compatible matches. Specifically:

• To run a compatibility scoring algorithm that pairs you with other participants
• To send you a confirmation email and, if a match is found, a pre-introduction check-in
• To manually review matches before any introduction is made

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond matchmaking.

Who sees your data

Your profile data is stored securely and accessible only to the experiment operator. Your contact details are never shared with another participant without your explicit consent to that specific introduction. If both parties consent, only your name and email are shared — nothing else.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party.

Data retention

Your data is retained for the duration of the experiment. If you wish to be removed from the pool at any point, email us and we will deactivate your profile. You can step back from the experiment at any time, no questions asked.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request removal from the matching pool at any time
• Withdraw consent and exit the experiment at any point

Changes to this policy

Any updates to this policy will be reflected on this page with the month and year of the change noted at the top.
